Nature Diary May – June

It’s time for a new Nature Diary! This fortnight, there are new butterflies to watch for, new bird songs to listen for, and new smells. Bird’s-foot-trefoil is flowering everywhere – it’s looking particularly great because there’s not been a lot of mowing. Long may it last! I was so happy to walk on to campus this morning and see trails being mowed to the picnic tables and to neaten the edges of patches of grass, but most of the grass (and accompanying wildflowers) being left long and meadow like. It looks gorgeous!
